MAGC Webinar: Accessible Social: How to Create Inclusive Content

Accessibility is often prioritized in web development, but what about your social media? Too often, accessibility is overlooked in marketing, leaving many users with disabilities excluded from fully engaging with digital content.

State and local governments with populations of more than 50,000 must ensure digital content, including websites, social media posts and mobile app, meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards by April 2026 (April 2027 for smaller governments). During the presentation, you’ll learn why accessible social media matters and how simple it can be to make your content inclusive for everyone.

Whether you’re new to accessibility or looking to sharpen your skills, this session will offer practical strategies you can start using right away.

Alexa Heinrich is an award-winning social media marketer in northern Illinois and the director of the website Accessible Social.

She is a passionate advocate for creating accessible and inclusive content for digital communications as well as educating others about the realities of working in social media.
