Northern Lights Awards


The annual Northern Lights Awards recognize outstanding work in Minnesota's government, educational, and nonprofit communications. The entry period typically begins in March and closes in early April. Each awards season culminates in the Northern Lights Awards Ceremony, usually in June or July. Our annual Annual Conference takes place in late October, bringing together more than 300 government communicators for a dynamic day of networking and professional development. Workshops and Webinars


MAGC hosts monthly virtual webinars and workshops on a variety of topics, ranging from photo editing to crisis communications. MAGC members can register for free and access previous workshop recordings through our member portal. See what we have coming up on our Events Calendar.

Pocket Programs


Pocket Programs are quick, small, local and informal gatherings centered around a particular communications topic. Hosts can have their programs added to our website and promoted through MAGC's e-newsletters. There is no cost to host or attend a Pocket Program. Have a great idea for a Pocket Program? MAGC events are typically open to members and non-members, but non-members may be charged an additional fee for registration. If you are not a member of MAGC but would like to receive emails and announcements about MAGC events, you can subscribe here.
