Storytelling Essentials

Telling stories is at the heart of a communicator’s work. The 2018 Minnesota Association of Government Communicators Fall Conference will cover the different ways to connect with audiences through effective storytelling. You will learn the latest social media trends, discover how to stay on point during a crisis, and hear how others are using stories to convey their organizations’ messages. And, for the first time at the Fall Conference, the afternoon will feature concurrent technical and creative sessions, and a cash bar reception afterward to network with your peers.

Reception: 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Conference Information: MAGC is a peer organization of professionals who are dedicated to improving public-sector communications. Last year’s Fall Conference attracted more than 200 participants representing all levels of government—federal, state, regional, county and local—as well as school districts, universities, colleges, non-profits and agencies serving those organizations.


Attendee Registration:
Early Bird prices through September 14: $100 members, $150 non-members. Starting September 15: $125 members, $175 non-members.


Vendor Showcase:

While the primary Vendor Showcase time is from approximately 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., vendors are invited to stay and visit with attendees throughout the entire the conference, which runs from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Vendors also have the option to attend the morning sessions of the MAGC Fall Conference at no additional cost. Speakers will be finalized in the upcoming months.

The fee to participate in the Vendor Showcase is $200 and includes a table, linen covering, electricity, parking and lunch for two people. To confirm your participation, please register online by August 24 to receive a $50 Early Bird Discount. All registrations must be completed by September 14.

Vendors who donate a prize for our random drawing with a value of at least $25, will have the opportunity to address all conference attendees once during the conference (five minutes per vendor).
