Jessie Brown, Social Media Specialist, Iowa Department of Natural Resources

Jessie Brown has worked with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for over 23 years. She's spent over half of that connecting people with nature through clear, creative storytelling. Her work earned national recognition and invitations to speak across the U.S. and internationally.

She's held leadership roles with Government Social Media, relaunched the Golden Post Awards, served on the Social Media Club Des Moines board, and twice been named a Top 100 Local Government Influencer. She also volunteers her communication skills with the Food Bank of Iowa and the Southeast Polk Education Foundation.

A University of Iowa graduate with degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication and Communication Studies, she's known for turning hikes into photo ops, sharing fun wildlife facts, and supporting fellow social media pros in a demanding field.
