The Minnesota Association of Government Communicators (MAGC) Annual Conference is built by and for government communicators.

Each year, MAGC issues a Call for Presenters to help shape an Annual Conference program that is timely, practical, and relevant to our members. The call for presenters typically opens each spring.

We are looking for engaging, informative sessions that provide real-world value. Whether you are sharing a successful campaign, lessons you've learned from a challenge, or a new tool or approach, your experience can help others grow and improve their work.

Presenters represent a wide range of roles, organizations, and experience levels. If you have an idea that could benefit your peers, we encourage you to submit!

Call for Presenters FAQ

When is the MAGC Annual Conference?

The date of the MAGC Annual Conference changes each year, but it's typically held in late October. The date and location of the MAGC Annual Conference are typically announced in January or February, and information is posted on our Upcoming Events page.

How many speakers do you need for each conference?

In most years, we are looking for two general sessions and as many as ten breakout sessions.

Who is eligible to present at the MAGC Annual Conference?

Anyone is welcome to submit a session proposal for the Annual Conference.

Who reviews the proposals and selects the speakers?

All submissions are reviewed by the Annual Conference Committee. The Committee makes a recommendation to the MAGC Board of Directors. The Board makes a final decision on which proposals will be included in the conference program.

When is the Call for Presenters open?

The Call for Presenters is typically open each spring. Everyone in the MAGC email database will receive a notification when the Call for Presenters opens. If you're not a member of MAGC but would like to receive emails about the Annual Conference and other MAGC programming, you can subscribe to our non-member mailing list here.

What if my proposal is not selected?

Unfortunately, we don't have space in the conference program for everyone who submits a proposal. MAGC hosts webinars throughout the year and you may be asked to present at a webinar if your session is not selected for the Annual Conference.
