Communicating Across Generations Workshop

Presentation Description
As government communicators, our audience includes citizens across all generations. The June MAGC workshop is bringing together the Army National Guard and the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging to talk about how to communicate across generations.

The Minnesota Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion is known as being the best Army National Guard recruiting state in the country over the last fifteen years. This program uses boots-on-ground experience and research knowledge from our incredibly talented Soldiers in order to acknowledge, adapt to and execute ideas based on the traits and needs of our target market audience (mostly millennials). This will encompass various marketing and sales strategies across our areas of operation.

The Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging (MNRAAA) works to help older adults thrive in Southwest Minnesota.  They provide information and assistance to help older adults and caregivers find and use services so that they may have choices for how they wish to live.  We utilize traditional and modern marketing strategies to reach rural and older adults who may be isolated or marginalized.

Kelly Wolle is an Administrative and Communications Assistant at the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging (MNRAAA).  Previously, she worked as a Marketing and Communications Designer for a national printing corporation for almost 15 years.  Kelly studied Graphic Communication at South Central College and advocated nationally for Career and Technical Education. Kelly uses her experience in graphic design, print and email marketing as well as social media at MNRAAA to help connect older adults and caregivers in Southwest Minnesota to resources to maintain the lifestyle of their choice.

Aaron D. Meyers, 1SG, MNARNG, has served a total of 19 years to the Minnesota Army National Guard, 15 of those years to the Minnesota Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion. First Sergeant Meyers was deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom in September of 2011 with service as a Liaison Officer at the United States Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq and Special Projects Noncommissioned Officer in Charge in Basra, Iraq. Currently he is the Noncommissioned Officer in charge of Southeastern Minnesota's Recruiting and Retention Noncommissioned Officers and First Sergeant of the Recruit Sustainment Program Company in Mankato.
