WMCC March: Exceptional Events!
This month we welcome three fabulous event planners to help us hone our event promotion skills. In an open Q&A format, they'll share their experiences and what can make or break an event. Our job as communicators is to fill the house and maximize the event's potential success. We'll gain insight into all of the nuances that go into planning an exceptional attendee experience, will help us become more effective at promoting and publicizing events for our organizations or clients. Meet our panel:
Kira Johnson of Kira L. Johnson Marketing Consultants specializes in the development and management of marketing solutions for retail properties, nonprofits, and small businesses.With more than 20 years experience in event planning, she recently implemented two Super Bowl related events at Ridgedale Center.
Layne Trout, lead planner with White Peacock Events, has spent 14 years bringing exceptional experiences to life through her work in corporate and nonprofit events. Her expertise spans logistics planning, management and execution, sponsorship activation, project management, staffing management, system creation, donor retention and stewardship.
Dre Barthel is the owner and creative director of Covey, a boutique events business that partners with organizations to bring their brand and mission to life through creative events and experiences. Her mission is to plan gatherings with intention.
WMCC meets in the Community Room at Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) offices at 15320 Minnetonka Blvd. Park behind the building, please! The entrance to the Community Room is marked.
Program begins promptly at 8 a.m. Please arrive early to enjoy conversation and settle in. We'll break at 9 a.m. for those who need to leave, but you are welcome to stay and continue Q&A and conversations with peers.
